Climate Control for Transport Premises
Within the transport industry, maintaining a comfortable temperature is paramount. Not only is it important for the comfort of customers and staff, it ensures vehicles won’t be damaged by excessive heat or cold. Proper ventilation is also key: it filters out dust and helps prevent the spread of illness, which is especially a concern with travellers.
At Meridian Cooling, we have provided air conditioning, ventilation, and heat pump services across much of the transport industry. Whether your business is based in a warehouse, manufacturing plant, airport, bus station or car garage, we will use our decades of experience to design the most effective ventilation, heating or air conditioning solution for your needs.

Air Source Heat Pumps for the Transport Industry
If you’re trying to reduce the impact your transport business has on the environment, investing in an air source heat pump is a great first step.
Air source pumps gather heat from the ambient air outside the building and “pumps” it around your building. Thanks to a reversing valve, heat pumps can also cool your building when needed too.
Because heat pumps are often more eco-friendly than a boiler, your business could even benefit from government grants on their installation. Read our complete guide to heat pumps for more information.

Ventilation for the Transport Industry
It’s not unusual for transport businesses to suffer from poor air quality: vehicle fumes, spray paint, and dust from manufacturing are just a few of the culprits. Poor airflow can also increase the spread of illness, particularly in crowded spaces like airports and bus stations, which is why it’s important that your building has proper ventilation.
Meridian Cooling has a wide range of air ventilation and purification systems available. Our engineers will visit your premises to identify what type of ventilation will work best, then get to work on designing and installing a unique system to meet your needs. The end result is fresh, free-flowing air that helps improve the health and concentration of everyone working there.
MVHRs
Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems are the perfect way to ventilate your building without compromising on energy efficiency.
MVHRs work by extracting moist air from humid rooms (like bathrooms and boiler rooms) and supplying filtered air to dry rooms (like workshops and offices). When it's cold out, heat is recovered from the extracted air and transferred into the supply air. When it’s hot, heat is transferred from the supply air into the extracted air.
Not only do MVHRs eliminate air impurities like dust and pollen, prevent condensation and damp, and remove bad odours, but they retain up to 95% of heat from the extracted air. A MVHR will ensure the air in your transport premises remains clean and comfortable year round.
