Our Accreditations
When you're having work done on your property, three things matter most: fair pricing, reliable service, and quality workmanship.
At Meridian Cooling, we want you to feel confident that you're getting the best in installation and maintenance for air conditioning, ventilation, air source and ground source heat pumps, and other climate control systems. That’s why we’ve gone through the rigorous checks required to earn both Prosure360 and MCS accreditation.
Keep reading to learn what these accreditations mean, why they’re important, and the standards we had to meet to earn them. .
MCS Accreditation
What is the purpose of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme?
The purpose of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is to ensure the quality and reliability of renewable energy installations in the UK. It certifies low-carbon technologies such as solar panels, heat pumps, and wind turbines, as well as the installers who fit them.
MCS sets strict industry standards to protect consumers and guarantee that systems perform efficiently and safely. Certification also helps homeowners and businesses access government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and the Smart Export Guarantee.
By maintaining high standards, MCS supports the UK’s transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions across homes and commercial properties.

What does being MCS accredited mean?
Being MCS accredited means that we’ve been certified by an independent body to install and maintain renewable energy systems such as heat pumps. MCS accreditation ensures that the renewable energy systems installed by us meet certain quality and safety standards.
To become an MCS certified Installer, we needed to prove our commitment to four pillars:
- Quality Workmanship
- Customer Care
- Demonstrable Competency
- Continual Improvement Through the Deployment of An Effective Management System
We did this through a series of assessments carried out by a licensed certification body. We were examined for our adherence to industry standards, membership in a Trading Standards Institute (TSI) approved Consumer Code, and more. .
Boiler Upgrade Scheme
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK government initiative launched in April 2022 to support the transition to low-carbon heating.
Replacing the now-closed Renewable Heat Incentive, the BUS offers upfront grants to homeowners and small non-domestic property owners looking to install energy-efficient systems like heat pumps or, in some cases, biomass boilers.
What the Scheme Offers
The scheme provides grants of up to £7,500 towards the cost of installing air source or ground source heat pumps. For eligible biomass boiler installations in rural areas, a grant of £5,000 is available.
These grants are designed to make renewable heating systems more affordable, encouraging uptake and helping reduce the UK's carbon emissions from domestic and small-scale commercial buildings.
Eligibility and Certification Requirements
To qualify for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, both the product and the installer must be certified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). The property must also have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with no outstanding recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation, unless exempt.
Applications are submitted by the installer on behalf of the property owner, simplifying the process and ensuring compliance with scheme standards.
BUS continues to play a key role in the UK's clean energy transition, offering real savings and long-term sustainability benefits.
PROSURE360 Accreditation
ProSure360 is a recognised UK-based accreditation platform that certifies companies for their compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and relevant legislation.
The platform conducts detailed assessments to verify that organisations have the proper structures in place to manage risk, train staff, and maintain safe working environments. ProSure360 is widely used across industries such as construction, engineering, and facilities management, where demonstrating safety competence is essential.
By earning this certification, companies not only meet legal and industry requirements but also gain a competitive edge, proving their commitment to high standards and building trust with clients and stakeholders.
What does being Prosure SSIP verified mean?
Launched in 2009, Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) is the UK’s nationally recognised framework for health and safety assessment. It unites multiple accreditation schemes under one standard, making it easier for clients to verify supplier competence.
Being ProSure SSIP verified means we were assessed across key criteria, including:

- Health and safety policies
- Competent advice, training, and qualifications
- Monitoring, auditing, and workforce involvement
- Accident reporting and action
- Sub-contracting
- Risk assessments and welfare provision
- Cooperating with others
This verification underlines our commitment to safe, responsible operations — giving you confidence in the reliability and professionalism of our service.
